IHL Report 2018-19

SKHL Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) from Beograd (Belgrade, Serbia) won the 2018-19 International Hockey League (Balkan Ice Hockey) in style, winning 25 of their 28 games, 24 of those games in Regulation to finish on 74 Points, well clear of second-placed HK Triglav (Slovenia) on 51 Points. Mid-Table finishers in the 8-team Balkan-Area League were KHL Zagreb (Croatia) 46 points, HK Slavija Junior (Sofia, Bulgaria) 46 Points, and  HK ECE Celje (Slovenia) 43 Points.

KHL Medveščak (Croatia) finished 6th on 34 Points, KHL Mladost (Sofia, Bulgaria) in 7th on 30 points and HK Vojvodina (Serbia) on 12 Points finished last.

IHL Report 2019-20

The 2019-20 International Hockey League (Balkan Ice Hockey) season featured one less team on 2018-19 with the loss of KHL Zagreb and KHL Medveščak (both Croatian teams). The addition of HK Hidria Jesenice of Slovenia brought the number of teams to 7.

The season was curtailed early due to the Worldwide COVID-19 Pandemic. with SKHL Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade to English speakers) 41 Points from 19 games and HK Slavija Junior (Sofia, Bulgaria) 45 Points from 21 Games neck and neck at the top of the Standings.

Third place was occupied by HK Triglav (Slovenia) 36 Points with mid-table going to KHL Mladost (Sofia, Bulgaria) 23 Points, HK Vojvodina  (Serbia) 22 points and HK Hidria Jesenice (Slovenia) 20 Points. HK True Celje of Slovenia were 7th on 11 Points.
